25 Weeks Pregnant!!

It's hard to believe that I am 25 weeks pregnant! I am so thankful that I have felt so good throughout the entire pregnancy. This past weekend, Jim started the painting on the nursery and we had so much fun officially getting the baby's room ready. We can't wait to share pictures of the western nursery when it's all done.

Harper Marie Barry & big brother Hudson

We are proud to introduce our new niece Harper Marie Barry. My brother and sister-in-law have two boys and they were so excited to be having a little girl. A few weeks ago when Harper was born we had the joy of helping my parents take care of Harper's big brother Hudson, who is 19 months old. He was such a delight to take care of and be around. As you will see, Hudson looooves his uncle Jim. We hope and pray that baby Scott is as sweet and good natured as sweet Hudson.

Health Update

Sorry for the late update on my health. With school, work and getting ready for baby Scott, I find it harder and harder to catch up on my blog...At the end of September, I had a mid-pregnancy MRI, which revealed no growth with my tumor!!! Praise the Lord! It was a huge relief for Jim and I and our family to find out this great news! The doctor had told us before we got pregnant that he would do surgery to remove the mass during pregnancy if it had grown at all. So...we were ecstatic to know that I would not have to face surgery and that we could then concentrate on baby Scott. In the weeks and days before my appointment, I felt such peace over the entire situation that could only have come from God. A few years ago, I could not have said this about myself, since I have always been one that's anxious about everything. Through this two year journey with my health, the Lord has taught me so much about trusting in Him and not relying on my own strength. I know that His peace over me is truly because of your prayers. I can't express how grateful I am for every single one of them. I am so blessed to have an amazing church group, friends and family that lift me up in prayer on a regular basis. I will ask for your continued prayer for my next appointment in February, soon after the baby is born. The doctor said that this will be the "true test" since my hormones will be even more elevated towards the end. I have comfort in knowing that my health is in God's hands and He has a wonderful plan for me. Knowing this takes all my fears away! Thank you all for blessing my life!

Baby Scott is a BOY!!!!

Last Friday, Jim and I were so excited to find out that we are having a BOY!!! After being told over the past few months two different things, we were so glad to finally know what we are having. The last two sonograms, baby Scott was being very shy, and would not open his legs to let us get a good look. This last visit, it was VERY clear to see what he was!
We cannot wait to start the nursery and plan for this little guy to arrive in January. We are looking forward to meeting our sweet little boy!

Babymoon in Puerto Vallarta!

Jim and I took our last big trip to Puerto Vallarta before baby Scott arrives. Puerto Vallarta was absolutely beautiful with the amazing mountains and sunsets. We had a great time getting to see all of Puerto Vallarta by taking a sunset cruise and taking a city tour. We had such a wonderful time relaxing and soaking up lots of sun. We will always have great memories from our trip to Mexico and we look forward to going back someday.

Baby Scott is a ...

I had a 3D/4D sonogram yesterday and the nurse had a really hard time getting baby Scott to cooperate because the baby's legs were crossed the entire time. The nurse changed her mind a few times, but told us that she was about 90% sure that it is a _____. So...looks like you will have to wait a little while longer until we find out exactly what baby Scott is. Jim and I had such great time getting to see the baby in 3D/4D and seeing how much our little miracle has grown. Baby Scott's arms were very active throughout the sonogram and there is a sweet picture of the baby's hand up as if the baby's waving at us! We also watched the baby take drinks of the amniotic fluid a few times which was very cute. Even though it is hard to tell in the 3D picture, I think the baby's nose and mouth looks like its' handsome daddy. So stay tuned to see what we find out at our next sonogram which could possibly be next week at my regular doctor's visit.
We are so blessed to have this sweet baby a part of our lives!

Southern Junction

A few weeks ago we enjoyed good food and good fun with friends at Southern Junction in Rockwall. The boys cooked the most amazing steaks and the girls had the big job of toasting the bread. We always have a great time dancing and eat way too much each time we go! All in all, we had a blast!

July 4th Weekend with the Family!!

This July 4th Jim and I were so excited to go home and visit our family. We had a wonderful time eating Bar-B-Q, hanging out around the pool, and celebrating with both of our parents. This is always our favorite way to spend our 4th!!

Date Night

Jim and I have been wanting to do something different than our usual night out together so, Jim surprised me with tickets to the Dallas symphony to see a violin concerto. The violinist were absolutely amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful food. What a fun night out!

Baby Scott at 12 Weeks!!

This past week I had a specialized sonogram that checked for Down syndrome and other chromosomal disorders, and all the test results came back good! I was told that they could possibly tell us the sex of the baby at this sonogram, but baby Scott was being very modest and the doctor was not able to tell. So...looks like we will have to wait a couple more months to find out if it's a boy or a girl:( Jim and I could not believe how much the baby has grown, and we had so much fun watching the baby yawn and wiggle it's fingers during the sonogram. We are so thankful to get good test results and we look forward to the next sonogram!

Baby Scott was looking straight at us in this sonogram.

We're Pregnant!!!

Jim and I are very excited to find out that we are PREGNANT!!! We could not be happier!!! We feel so very blessed for this to have happened so fast. My doctor gave us the okay in March to start our family after finding out that my brain tumor had not changed in size on my MRI. God has truly blessed us with this little miracle and we can't wait to meet our sweet baby. At this point, I am ten weeks pregnant, and the expected due date is January 18th. I go back to have an MRI and to see the doctor in late August to check the status of the tumor to make sure that hormones are not causing it to grow. So, I ask for continued prayer over this situation and that I will "keep the faith" and remember that I am in God's hands. What better hands to be in! Thank you everyone for all your prayers through this journey. This exciting time would not be possible without your prayers. Praise God from whom all blessings flow...

Our little miracle at 6 weeks!

8 weeks...the baby is on its head here.

Our Five Year Anniversary!!!!

Jim and I can't believe it has already been five years! We have had some amazing times together starting in College Station, then Houston and now in Dallas. I couldn't ask for a better husband and friend to spend my life with. Thanks Jimmy for being an amazing soul mate!
For our anniversary this year, we went to one of our favorite places called La Duni, which is a Latin restaurant. The food is a lot like Mexican food (our favorite), with a kick. We had a blast on our special night together. I look forward to the next fifty years or more together!

Gardere's Yearly Event!

Jim's law firm had their end-of-the-fiscal-year event at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in downtown Dallas. We always have a great time hanging out with all the fun people that Jim works with. We really enjoyed the awesome food and had a great time at the casino night. We look forward to next year's event!
