Christmas Eve with Papa John & Candy

The day before Christmas Eve, we drove north to see Papa John, Candy and Amy.  Sean had a great time with the dogs and riding the miniature horse.  As you will see from the pictures, it was SO cold there, and we actually saw little snow flurries as we were driving on Christmas Eve.  It was the closest thing to a “white Christmas” we will see!

Christmas with Gram & Papa!

The week before Christmas we celebrated early in Baird with the Barry family!  It’s so fun, getting all the grandkids together, which is not very often.  What a great weekend we had at Gram and Papa’s!

December Highlights!

December was filled with lots of fun parties, and all-things-Christmas!  Sean was not real sure about Santa this year, since daddy told him he would be coming down the chimney to deliver his gifts.  Sean had a few lots of sleepless nights thinking about that thought. (Yawn) Thanks daddy! :)  After Sean saw Santa at Bass Pro Shop, and saw him again at a private Santa party, one of his friends had, he finally warmed up to him.  We were so surprised that he never cried when he saw Santa, even though he had talked about how scary he was for so many weeks!  We also had fun at our friends gingerbread-house-making party, and his Primrose school party!  This Christmas was also our first time to involve Sean with the Operation Christmas Child.  He wasn’t sure about sending toys to another little boy that wouldn’t have much this Christmas.  After lots of explaining he was totally on board, so much that he wanted to send some of his favorite toys.  So. sweet!  Mommy had to explain that he would never see those favorite toys again. ;) 

It was such a special Christmas this year, being able to explain, and Sean understanding, the true meaning of Christmas, with the gift of Jesus’ birth.  Sean loved the thought of it being Jesus’ birthday, which gives him reason to eat cupcakes! :)  So I will never forget…some of Sean’s favorite songs this Christmas, were Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Jingle Bells. It was so incredibly sweet hearing his sweet voice sing those songs.  What a wonderful month of celebrating our Saviors birth!
