Jim and I always love going back home to Baird, where we both grew up. It was so exciting to take Sean Wheeler home for the very first time. Everyone had a great time seeing Sean and spending time together. Sean also got to meet his uncle Blan for the first time. We look forward to our next visit to Baird!

Sean's First Month!

It's hard to believe that Sean is already a month old! We have been very busy with grandparents staying, friends dropping by, and many doctor's visits. Sean has had wonderful checkups at his doctor's appointments. His one month checkup, Sean weighed 10.9 lbs, and is already 22.75 inches long! As you will see, Sean has changed so much in just one month. He is growing like crazy and not missing any meals! What an awesome month that we have experienced with our sweet little boy.

One Month

Introducing Sean Wheeler Scott!!

Sean Wheeler is already four weeks old and amazing us daily! As you will see, Sean is a mini-me of Jim, and just as sweet as he could be. The first picture is of Jim and I in the hospital the night before I was induced. On the morning of January 20th, I was just slightly dilated and the baby had not dropped at all. Thankfully, around noon that day, my water broke. The fact that I had not dilated, nor had the baby dropped, the doctor decided to do a c-section. At 2:27 on January 20th, Sean Wheeler Scott was born. He was 8 lbs 9oz, 21 1/4 long. That day was the most wonderful day that we could ever imagine. Jim and I have been so in love with our little miracle every since we laid eyes on him. We thank God for an amazing little boy that has already blessed our lives tremendously. Every time we look at Sean Wheeler, we can't help but think of this verse: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

The History of Sean Wheeler Scott

If you haven't already heard, we are naming our baby boy Sean Wheeler Scott. Sean Wheeler is named after the Texas patriot and statesman John Wheeler Bunton (Heather's ancestor). John Wheeler arrived in Texas in 1833 from Tennessee and settled in Mina (now Bastrop). He represented Mina at the Convention of 1836 at Washington-on-the-Brazos, signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, and was a member of the committee to draft the constitution of the new republic. He served along-side Gen. Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto. Thereafter, he represented Bastrop County in the House of Representatives of the First Congress of the Republic of Texas. He is credited for the bill that established the Texas Rangers, the bill providing postal service, and the bill outlining the judiciary system.

So why Sean instead of John? Sean comes from the Irish origin (Jim's ancestry), and is the Irish variant of John - which means God is gracious and a gift from God.

After our journey over the past two years with Heather's health, God has been so gracious to us, and this child is truly a gift from God!
